There has been a lot of confusion in the terms reset and reboot. To reboot a router means to cycle it’s power by turning it off and back on again.
Resetting a router is taking all the settings and reverting each and every one of them back to factory defaults. Resetting this router can cause problems if you don’t know what to expect from a reset. We suggest making a list of setting you know will be changed. Take the following list into consideration:.
The first thing to do is locate the tiny reset button. Typically it can be found on the back panel or on the underside of the router. Once the reset button has been located use a pen or pencil tip to press and hold the button for about 10 seconds.
Make sure your router is on for this process. Do not unplug or turn off the router.
Doing so during the reset process could cause permanent damage to the router. Remember this will erase every setting you have made in your router.
