It has a honeywell series control. On the gordon piatt burner, I have pulled the burner, and cleaned replaced the ignition, transformer, spark wire, and pilot valve and coil.

After all of that it was still periodically tripping out on pilot, and main flame, at random sometimes it would run a month, so after all of that i replaced the control, still doing the same thing, I goreon 3. Have a great spark and as far as i can tell it lights piart time on my pilot and still get a pilot error.

When it goes out on main flame, it takes 3 secs and i loose my pilot. I have taken away gas given more gas still no change, has anyone ever had this problem? Uv scanner or flame rod? Any new gas appliances? If a scanner, is it condensating on the end? Last time I had intermittent faults like that, I found 5 wires that were not properly landed on the main terminal strip. They were underneath the screw clamps. Tug on all the wires to be sure they are tight. I deal with intermittent boiler issues all the time. What is the model number of you burner so I can better understand.

Get the model number and the fault code numbers. Is this a 3 phase unit? Is there a ground wire pulled into the burner from the electrical panel?

Make sure your pilot isn’t getting too much gas. Your pilot should be set to the lowest setting and still get ignition. Similar to a pilot turndown except honeywell has a test burneg built into their control modules to do so. Also save that old flame safeguard control. It’s generally the last thing to fail intermittently.

If a flame safeguard fails it will be either all black no lights completely fried or it will say internal fault when you plug in your reader.
